Communicating the importance of your scholarship work in a clear and concise manner to wide audiences is an important skill that can increase the success of job searches, funding proposals, and professional networking.
George Mason University's graduate students have the opportunity to present their research and studies to their peers, faculty, staff, and guests. These spaces provide graduate students the chance to hone in and practice their skills in presentation delivery and communication.
At Mason, we offer the:
- Three Minute Thesis (3MT®): A research communication competition in which Ph.D. students present doctoral research to a non-specialist audience in three minutes.
- Mason Graduate Interdisciplinary Conference: A one-day event highlighting graduate student research, sparking discussion across disciplines.
- Innovations in Teaching and Learning Conference (ITLC): Communicate your teaching philosophy and approach to teaching to a community of instructors and future instructors.
The 3MT® and Mason Graduate Interdisciplinary Conference provide you an opportunity to present your scholarly research work while networking with peers and faculty. The ITLC helps you present and get your work published in the conference proceedings.
